Biden’s latest attempt to convince everyone he has what it takes to stay in the race will air at 6:30 PM Eastern / 3:30 PM Pacific.

My expectation is that it will be on all the usual sources. CNN, MSNBC, etc. etc. with in depth coverage on the talking head shows later tonight.
Edit Conference is running 20+ 50+ minutes late after already being pushed back 1 hour from 5:30 to 6:30.
Not sure if that’s good news or bad news.
Here we go! 58 minutes late, but he’s on a roll talking about NATO.
Oh, snap! Reminding everyone that Article 5 has only been used once… 9/11.
Speech ran less than 10 minutes, but was a strong speech, now the questions.
Fumbles on the first answer, calling out “Vice President Trump”. :(
Ended after almost an hour with one final question on “Vice President Trump” - Biden’s answer “Listen to him.” End conference.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it went!
This is like, actually the worst answer he’s given in the conference. Like, dude, you are polling in the 30s. Don’t bring up the polling if you are trying to make your case. Whatever you do pretend the polling doesn’t exist.
Yeah that was bad
Yeah I had it as a slight win even with the first couple major gaffes.
It doesn’t matter that he had several good, if spoken slowly, cogent answers on Ukraine, Europe, defensive production and budget, etc…
That last question: “Talk to him” and “The campaign hasn’t started”.
Bruh.
BRUH
That puts more weight on the first few gaffes. Like jesus christ dude just take the fucking W and walk off the god damned stage.
His response to the geopolitical question is very well articulated.
That one was the best one. I thought his answer though to the question about letting Harris take over the ticket if she was polling better was awful. I’m sure most of the ink will be spilled over Vice President trump and “listen to him” but that’s a simple flub and a poorly delivered quip.
We are being told, and I really do believe, that a second trump term could bring about a fascist takeover, project 2025 is legitimately frightening and the Supreme Court seems eager to make this happen.
Saying that he wouldn’t go for who had the best shot he’d only step away if he knew for certain he would lose because of some nebulous “only I can finish the job here” is straight ego tripping.
Someone else has a better shot at saving our very democracy and Biden would bet it all on Biden because he thinks Biden is singularly capable of doing… something. No idea what. And that’s more important to him which is fucking wild
“Listen to him”
Why? Why the fuck would you say that, man?
I gave Biden a pass for the “Doing the goodest job” flub during the ABC News interview, because how do you answer that question on the spot without sounding like a nihilist? Obviously, he should have said that trust in the system is important and that checks and balances will still be a thing even if he doesn’t win, but he opted for the feel-good sentiment of “At least we tried our best!”.
But for this? The question was “Trump is already tweeting about you mixing up Vice President Harris with his name and citing it as evidence that you are not fit for office. How do you respond to that?” and he says listen to him. WTF man. Biden is his own worst enemy right now. He could have walked off stage and said nothing.
I dunno why people are so die hard for Biden to stay in the race. Most of those people will vote for whoever runs against Trump. I don’t care who they put up, I am voting for them, but if we put up someone who is clear, coherent and younger, I suspect it will attract a better turn out.
This must be so weird for NATO officials in the room. The future of NATO hinges in him… and it really has nothing to do with the message he conveys, but how he says it.
Is it better for NATO if he flubs it, and gets another candidate in? Worse? shrug
I don’t understand “get a better candidate” though really. The Dems should run a paperclip someone found at the back of the drawer and beat a racist, murdering, pedophile, rapist.
The problem is the news corps decided they are gonna do whatever they can to get Trump.
They could have literally the best candidate on earth and trump could fuck a an aborted fetus of a pregnant teen trans boy on loop for 24 hours on live tv, and CNN would still find something else to talk about
I mean Jon Fucking Stewart, someone who could have run against Trump and won, is right in line with the same fucking plan.
Together with VP Trump we’ll defeat former republican president Kamala!
Media is seething rn. They wanted Biden to break down and start sobbing on stage. He basically told them they were stupid for running a major story about a minor flub this afternoon.
They are mad that Biden turned their accusations into a boring press conference about NATO and his accomplishments.
Its not a L like his interview or his debate. Its also not a W, its… questions about industrial policy and NATO.
It looks like he’s having a good day. But can it resolve issues around Biden on a bad day?
He’s slowing down and is putting the room to sleep.
Pump him up again Jill! More drugs! Haha
This is the guy that stands between whatever this status quo is and the Trump brand of fascists. We’re cooked.
Medium rare, or shoe leather with a side of ketchup?
This like a follow up to Pelosis question.
He loses the plot and ends with “Anyway…”
First Time I hear about Hamas using Ballistic missiles. Boy they leveled up pretty quickly. maybe Biden should outsource missile manufacturing to them, US will be cutting billion of dollars in R&D.
He did alright. Alright isn’t enough. He needed a homerun to unfuck this, and he hit a single. I think from here on out, Biden is a detriment to the party ticket. If he stays in, our fight becomes much harder.
I’m not even sure he got walked to first base.

I would have agreed with that analogy up until that last question. He seems to have this thing about not knowing when to quit…
Jesus, Joe. That last statement you gave the Republicans the sound bite for the ages:
“Listen to him.”
Fucking dumbass. Dumb dumb dumb dumb.
He could have just walked off stage.
But he couldn’t help himself, just one more, and what a whopper of a sound bite.
It’s almost like there’s a lesson in here about Joe Biden not knowing when to quit.
“Listen to him.”
He meant “If you think I sound incoherent sometimes, you should listen to how bad he (Trump) sounds.”
Well, that started very bad, got a bit better in the middle, and then fell apart at the end. What I’m worried about is that he did just well enough to convince himself not to drop out. I doubt anyone feels much better after that though.
Good. GOOD. He is speaking much clearer now, and that is a good start.
