Try to say something about Israeli genocide and they will ban you straight away. I’ve been there.
Try taking about Palestine’s poor attempt at an Israeli genocide and it goes just as badly. Most mods just ban opinions they don’t like. It used to make me mad, now I think they’re just sad little authoritarians ruling their little teacups.
I have never ever seen pro-Israeli users being banned, although they should be as they were often supporting terrorism and crimes against humanity.

Sites do not know about remote communities by default. Someone on your local site need to search their whole group address (group@remotehost) to make it known.
The fediverse, despite appearances, is local-forst. Lemmy requires legwork.

Yeah, from what I understand, .world is hosted in a country where suggesting that someone should die is really not allowed, so, it makes sense (if the person that said that was accurate). At least its not virtue signaling or adhering to the whims of the rich like over at R.

Could someone please explain to me how I can access the public mod log? I came here to get away from Reddit. Not only is it becoming more and more like it, too many posts in my feed are about it. If I wanted to go back there I would. Haven’t been in at least 14 months. Please go to Reddit to complain about Reddit.
Lemmy has always been reddit but with less people, if not even worse in the moderation aspect. You simply noticed it recently.

Lemmy is also a link aggregator which works in a similar way to reddit, but it has it’s own history, culture, and quirks.
Sure, things will happen on Lemmy which are reminiscent of reddit because they’re both link aggregators, but to say lemmy “is” reddit is very reductive.
