I don’t think it’s even that, if you’re just passionate and serious about a movement it will slowly improve your charisma if you’re even 10% intelligent about it. Actually getting involved and going to meetings etc will 100% increase your chances of finding a partner. Now if you want one of those undercover bunker-buddies, you’re gonna need to start doing some heavy planning but probably not actually do anything illegal.

It’s crazy how lazy these companies are trying to be about VR. Imagine nintendo or Sega launching a console without any studios or titles. It’s the corporate doubling-down that you have to worry and look out for. As you say it’s a revenue source for them. In fact, they spent over 100k (as stated by them in their own shows) for “Marketing” to get this screwdriver out there, for something that’s a revenue source for them.

It has to be such a lucrative deal for them that they are pulling resources from other revenue to prop this up. Prepare for the slow enshittification of his tools. They order them from a manufacturer, parts will become cheaper, bulks will slowly have less quality control, and they’ll “move on” to later versions that pocket them more cash. They really don’t have to worry about their reputation as a “Tool manufacturer”, they’ll just pass the blame off onto another party while sweeping things under the rug and continuing on whistling like nothing happened.

Definitely could describe me as a frequent screwdriver user. Currently restoring 2 John Oster vintage drill drivers, tradesmen, electronic repair tinkerer (unfortunately for everyone else in my life as well, it’s always overwhelming), just basically always have a screwdriver in my hand every day.

I think if I were to reevaluate my statement, I would put it as:

“It’s a shitty-looking-plastic Screwdriver, for 70$”

You can claim the inner mechanisms and their elevated teeth count “makes it a vastly superior product”, but as someone who owns several ratcheting screwdrivers, I wouldn’t recommend this out of the blue for someone. If someone has “particular gripes, all of which are solved with this product”, then it might be a good match for you.

If you want to support them, the 70$ isn’t a bad price ticket for what you get. It’s like a donation with a really cool grab bag that you actually want. If you’re telling someone who doesn’t have a ratcheting screwdriver to first pay 70$ on this? You’re just shilling for the company.

These are a MegaPro patent from an actual tool company. They are lower in price, rubber grips, and actually look better. If you don’t care about the look, spend an extra 10$ and get the Snapon with a LIFETIME WARRANTY. What if he had been imprisoned and actually got mental health care that doesn’t really exist in most prison populations currently (globally that is). If you had a senior Hitler, with life imprisonment, painting fields of flowers with jewish and little blonde/blond kids running around, it would be a totally different outcome in this day and age.

To be possible though the prison system would need completely reworked. In our current system I don’t think it would have the same outcome (since our system has a different purpose than rehabilitate currently). I also think people shouldn’t be able to communicate as effectively with the outside world without extra censorship (that whole no harm to society thing, can still happen if they’re voicing action or calls to violence, happens still currently.).

You’re completely missing the point and focusing on an individual. They’re stating the moral purpose of a SOCIETY. As in the society shouldn’t kill and it certainly shouldn’t be ONE individuals decision for that murder to take place. YOU might have a redline/breaking point, but society wouldn’t. It’s why ONE person isn’t the deciding factor on death, it’s a societies moral choice to do that and uphold that.

idk, I find the coupon thing to be super easy. Just takes one search and maybe two clicks if you have ad blockers on. Mostly the only time is if I’m ordering something like pizza for a get together where no special applies. There’s a local chain in my state that had a coupon code for half off my order that wasn’t listed on their site (they might’ve given it to me if I called but who knows). Been using that for the past year and it allows me to convince everyone to go there instead of a national chain. I’ve also been lucky with some manufacturers coupons for products I’m ordering straight from them, it’s more rare though so it’s hit or miss sometimes.

It’s getting worse, I can’t remember who but I was watching a video just the other day and their ad segment was the fucking ltt ratchet driver. You know, the one they supposedly made because they were tired of the market and the low quality rip-offs all the companies were just trying to make profit off of (it’s a shitty plastic screwdriver for 70$, link to pic and it’s being sold at fucking walmart now). They sold it as such a heart string story in the beginning, it’s just another mini-wannabe corporation.

I don’t particularly feel bad at this point for their continued reputation downfall and the people responsible. Everyone has their own personal story of their favorite company which has turned to complete shit (Blizzard is one of mine). They didn’t come out strong but doubled down corporate style when everything started. I find your 30% cut being less than adequate a very opinionated response. Steam gets to double dip repeatedly with anything that gets sold on their platform. Got a steam key? Now be prepared to always open their app which is defaulted to land on the store page and give you multiple pop ups when logging in. We also harvest your data for “advertising purposes” and you will need to constantly keep our client running if you wish to enjoy your game.

Imagine you had to go into the IOS or google play store every time you wanted to open an app and it started with suggestions for other apps you could use instead. If you wanted to use your app account on another device, even a pc, you need to download the playstore and link your mobile account to it just to then login to the app. Everyone would be shitting bricks.

lol I don’t want to get lost in analogies, but these sweets are in their pocket. Their friends are giving them new brands and better sweets. You know what sweets you have in the cabinet, you have no idea how many sweets your kid is eating per day. This is all pretty generic through when considering the entire childhood. Of course you’re gonna be there and watch your kid so they’re not over doing it at age 4, but 12+? Eh, it’s an uphill battle you should stay vigilant on till they’re legally and showing at least basic adult responsibility.

If you’re nearby your kid when you’re in the park or they’re at school interacting with other kids (etc), you’re gonna be curious and want to make sure they’re doing alright but just kinda peripheral paying attention to their actions while mingling yourself. It can be treated respectfully and non intrusively by just checking your router (other devices), what kind of traffic is coming in and out (generic safety), and maybe something along the lines of just asking to see their app activity in their account to get an idea of how they’re spending their time without diving right into their private data.

Oh boy, good luck with that outlook in today’s age. You can trust them to get into shit, I believe helicopter parenting has become prevalent because we’ve lost the “village” it takes to raise a kid. You used to be able to trust a parent to step in if they were over at someone else’s house and a discussion got nasty or a fight broke out. You would have neighbors who looked after the kids and would let you know if they were up to some shit. Now the kids talk on discord and other apps, completely unsupervised or at times even inaccessible (after the fact) if they’ve set it up right. You’ve got algorithm’s trained on millions of users to suck your kids in, never ending entertainment with minimal effort.

As a parent, who is completely conscious of everything going on around social media and technology, you will absolutely need to step in. Most adults can’t even handle it, you WILL have to be the parent who sets boundaries on the stimuli their brain craves but has a negative impact on their overall health. You don’t instill healthy eating into a child by giving them unlimited money and telling them to make their own decisions. You work with them, share your experience, let them cook sometimes but monitor over and see the results of their activity. Are they making healthy choices or ordering door dash?

Make it more difficult for them by setting restrictions they have to learn to bypass, even if it feels ridiculous it’s a whole different setup for effort-reward. It will interest them into getting into deeper components of technology and how everything works. It’s absolutely what kids are suppose to do, just like we always figure out a way to get away with shit which ultimately improves various skills.

Oh yeah, equipment is definitely a perk. It’s kinda amazing how cheap shop vacs are too compared to going to a car wash repeatedly. But I think you jostled a caveat to all of these hobbies, being not broke lol. Could really put a strain on a relationship when you would previously sacrifice to get something but now you’re asking a partner to do the same.

Woodworking - “wow you made this desk yourself?!” Reality: Spent weeks designing and getting the right materials, spent more weeks in the shop getting everything right, spent months all together away and in a shop so you could present… a desk (the novelty runs out real quick with a partner)

Same with a lot of them, if you’re really into a hobby and it is presentable… You’ve spent a fuckton of time on it. Something you could do while you were single, 10x harder to pick up or continue doing in a relationship since your time is now divided. It becomes one of those, “Yeah they love doing photography and they’re really good at it!” (cue partner standing there who hasn’t taken a picture in over a year looking sheepish).
